GROWING IMAGES: A PHYTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH KAREL DOING
Thursday, March 20: 11 AM - 4 PM
Join visiting artist Karel Doing, inventor and innovator of the phytography process, for an afternoon exploring this wondrous technique that leaves detailed chemical traces of plants directly on photographic emulsion. Hands-on material exploration of phytography on 16mm film will be accompanied by discussion of the historical lineage of phytograms, experimental image making practice and ecological mindfulness. Participants will gather plants, create their own images and see the results in projection. All materials provided.
By Donation (suggested $30)
