HAIKUOGRAPHY (w/ a thankful nod to Sonia Sanchez) 
Saturday, June 15: 2 – 4 PM
A free, 2-hour, all-ages workshop facilitated by our wonderful guest filmmaker from Los Angeles, Jennifer Saparzadeh!

Each participant will complete a short film inspired by the movement of haiku, a short poetic form that originated in Japan. What is the flow the 'instant' we find through our art form, whether film, poetry, etc? We will consider a few haiku from different cultures, ages, & languages and create haikus of our own or access our printouts. We will discuss what to each of us might be the 'syllable' of a filmic image and create short films considering time in a new way and inspired by haikus as an access point for making a poetic short film.
