OCTOBER SCREENING: DISABILITY AWARENESS MONTH

Join us for our monthly screening at Plaza del Valle! We’re celebrating Disability Awareness Month by highlighting films curated by our very own SFV community. This month, we highlight Espeon, an artist and organizer in our community. “These short films and artists creatively explore chronic illness and disability. Visiting organizations are participating in care and advocacy for chronically ill and disabled community.”

It’s hard to find films that properly represent the unique experiences most POC have to go through with disability. We are working alongside organizers who recognize that the city fails to address our limitations whether it is language, mobility, financial status, etc. We are highlighting these stories to foster inclusivity; sharing how we organize mutual aid and alternative resources. Featured artists include: @espeon, @pata_ato, @rare_earth_mineral, @nat_decker__, @littleom, @alcidebreaux plus a DJ set by : @weepingwillowtree.34_dj
