Vinegar Syndrome, Echo Park Film Center’s long-running ephemeral film screening series, is back after a two-year hiatus!
Bees. Astronomy. Microscopic organisms. Hairstyles through the ages? Few classic educational films are as delightfully weird and eclectic as the works of amateur naturalist, radio personality, and “info-tainment” pioneer John Kieran. Produced in the late 1940s through the early 1950s, Kieran’s films cover topics ranging from human biology to sea creatures to cultural history, and feature his distinctive, disarmingly folksy, off-the-cuff narration style.
Join us for a free, casual outdoor screening by the water. Bring a chair or blanket and we’ll provide the snacks! Register for location details.
Kieran’s works are cataloged in the Prelinger Archives.
